Killington Lodging
When you think of Vermont skiing, there’s one ski resort that always comes to mind. The Beast of the East, or Killington, is the Vermont resort to ski. With 155 trails over 1509 inbound acres of skiing and an incredible 3050 foot vertical, Killington will never leave you wanting more. Now that Killington has combined with Pico Mountain, skiers have eight different peaks to play on, making this ski resort more than worthy of a week’s vacation. You’re going to need someplace to sleep, however, so here’s the lowdown on Killington lodging options.
On-site Options
Killington is a full featured resort, which means there are a lot of places to choose from when looking for Killington lodging. The on-site hotel is the Killington Grand Resort, which features all the amenities one would expect from a full service resort property. Ski in/out access to the slopes is a given, as are the wide variety of rooms, from a standard hotel room (sleeps 2 to 4) to a deluxe single suite (sleeps 4 to 6), to a three bedroom penthouse (sleeps up to 10), and every combination in between. For that added bit of luxury, however, penthouses have a full kitchen in room and a sauna. If you’re in the mood to pamper yourself after a rough day on the mountain, the Grand Spa is there to massage and soothe you back to inner peace.
Another on-site option for Killington lodging is the Pico Resort. This hotel is located right next to Pico Mountain and is a great option if you’re looking to ski Pico. Pico is often a lot less crowded than the primary slopes at Killington, so this hotel also affords you a little more privacy. The room options range from one to three bedroom condominiums, which sleep up to 10 guests. Most units have an in-room fireplace and all either have a washer/dryer in room, or access to one. All rooms also come with a fully stocked kitchen with utensils, soap, towels, and coffee filters. There’s also an indoor heated pool and a sauna, perfect for soaking out those aches and pains from the slopes.
Off-Site Options
If you’re looking for an affordable room with not a lot of frills; just someplace to crash for the night and a place to store your stuff, the Happy Bear Motel is a great option for Killington lodging. This motel features classic motel rooms that while austere, are cozy and quiet. The motel is only minutes from Killington and offers a free shuttle bus to the resort. There’s also a complimentary continental breakfast each morning to get you up and fueled for a great day of skiing.
The Hillside Inn is another option when you’re looking for Killington lodging. There are 93 rooms in this hotel, each with its own entry and private bath. The rooms are quiet and cozy, perfect for kicking back after a long day on the mountain. The Inn offers a complimentary continental breakfast as well and a free shuttle to the resort. The Hillside Inn is also pet friendly with a small deposit and nominal nightly fee.
When you’re skiing the Beast, the last thing you want to do is worry about where you’re going to sleep at night. With a lot of different options for Killington lodging, you can be sure you’re going to find something that suits your needs and will make your vacation one to remember.
